Actually, if the Australian Bureau of Criminology can be believed, Americans would be insane to concern themselves with what non-Americans think about American gun rights.
In 2002 — five years after enacting its gun ban — the Australian Bureau of Criminology acknowledged there is no correlation between gun control and the use of firearms in violent crime. In fact, the percent of murders committed with a firearm was the highest it had ever been in 2006 (16.3 percent), says the D.C. Examiner.
Even Australia’s Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research acknowledges that the gun ban had no significant impact on the amount of gun-involved crime:
In 2006, assault rose 49.2 percent and robbery 6.2 percent.
Sexual assault — Australia’s equivalent term for rape — increased 29.9 percent.
Overall, Australia’s violent crime rate rose 42.2 percent.
Moreover, Australia and the United States — where no gun-ban exists — both experienced similar decreases in murder rates:
Between 1995 and 2007, Australia saw a 31.9 percent decrease; without a gun ban, America’s rate dropped 31.7 percent.
During the same time period, all other violent crime indices increased in Australia: assault rose 49.2 percent and robbery 6.2 percent.
Sexual assault — Australia’s equivalent term for rape — increased 29.9 percent.
Overall, Australia’s violent crime rate rose 42.2 percent.
At the same time, U.S. violent crime decreased 31.8 percent: rape dropped 19.2 percent; robbery decreased 33.2 percent; aggravated assault dropped 32.2 percent.
Australian women are now raped over three times as often as American women.
So, if the USA follows Australia’s lead in banning guns, it should expect a 42 percent increase in violent crime, a higher percentage of murders committed with a gun, and three times more rape. One wonders if Freddy even bothered to look up the relative crime statistics.
AUSRALIA WEAPONS USED AGAINST VICTIMS OF CRIME RECORDED BY POLICE
In 2010, a weapon was used in 67% of murders, 71% of attempted murders, and 39% of robberies.
The most common weapon type used in the commission of all three offences was a knife, which was used against 33% of murder, 28% of attempted murder, and 18% of robbery victims.

Here is a quote that needs to brought often and loudly. BTW, Jackson was a Democrat.
The very purpose of a Bill of Rights was to withdraw certain subjects from the vicissitudes of political controversy, to place them beyond the reach of majorities and officials and to establish them as legal Principles to be applied by the courts. One’s right to life, liberty, and property, to free speech, a free press, freedom of worship and assembly, and other fundamental rights may not be submitted to vote; they depend on the outcome of no elections. Justice Robert H. Jackson, West Virginia Board of Education vs. Barnette, 1943
I am a big fan of the show. I discovered the podcast last year and since, I have never missed an episode. You, Sean and the round table keep me sane week after week. I am a huge supporter of what you do and am proud to know that the second most listened to live radio program in the country is one that promotes the cause of freedom and liberty.
I have a deep appreciation for freedom and the understanding that it is a divine right to keep and bear arms. I am a registered Republican with Libertarian views, a NRA Life member and I currently serve the people and the constitution of our great nation in the armed forces.
This week, I cued into what I thought was a very interesting point made by David at the end of the round table. The discussion was about Rick Perry inviting Californians to bring their business to Texas. If you recall, he thought that it would be a bad idea because the Californians would bring bad ideas with them.
I was born and raised in California. Recently, my military service has returned me to the state after being gone for some time. I dreaded the idea that I was going to return to the political climate here, however it is comforting to know that there are still people of sound mind that do reside in the golden state and do their best to resist the norm. As the underdogs in these uncertain times, we need your support more than ever. There are people here that have been fighting the tyranny well before the rest of the nation thought twice about it.
I have traveled the country and spoken to like-minded people and the consensus is usually to write off California as a lost cause. Its very easy to say, “If you don’t like it there, leave” or “Get out to a free state”. As we know, life is not that black and white. David hails from Ohio, but I do not blame him for Obama winning the state, and with it, the election. Now is the time to come together. If Obama and Feinstein win this fight at the federal level, will we all leave the country? Of course not. We will rally and freedom will prevail.
I realize that I am the minority in this state, but I am not alone. I am not a “feral hog”, although I am very familiar with the people you are referring to. I am an American patriot who believes that the second amendment protects all the others. If we can overturn this lunacy in California, we can do it anywhere.
I ask that our firearm family throughout the nation not write us off. We are resisting. The land of Reagan needs your support more than ever. Thank you so much for your weekly doses of truth. Your show is a breath of fresh air when I was choking on the BS. Keep up the good fight.
How about you gun experts quit referring to semi-auto carbines ON AIR as “assault weapons.” There is NO SUCH THING. There are assault rifles; which are select-fire (full and semi-auto) medium-caliber carbines, and there are semi-automatic rifles–but there is no such thing as an assault weapon–that term is a pure propaganda term of the anti-gun people; are you they?

Hi, this is Dan Farnsworth, writing from Augusta, GA. Just wanted to drop a quick line to let you know I just returned from the MAG-40 course in Live Oak, FL (21-24FEB). Great course, man! We sure did miss ya!
Mas had mentioned that you were busy with a string of interviews last week and had to cancel on the course. Admittedly, I was a bit disappointed to hear that, but completely understood. I had brought with me a copy of “Lessons from Armed America,” in hopes that you and Mas might both be able to autograph it. As it were, Mas generously signed the book…I told him I would email you to see if you might still be able to do the same? Again, I completely understand if you’re busy, but I’d be willing to pay the postage both ways if you’d be willing and available to autograph the book as well.
Again, the course was excellent; definitely exceeded all expectation in my opinion. We had 36 students in the course…all great folks. One actually out-shot Mas on the final qualification. A perfect 300. I walked away with about 28 pages of written notes, and a whole lot more knowledge than I could have ever hoped for. A truly-worthwhile experience to say the least.
Anyway, please let me know if there is an address that I might be able to send the book to. I would certainly be most grateful. Love the show, brother…and I listen every week on the podcast. Even caught the last hour live as I drove home from Live Oak last night.
Mark,
I am listening to the podcast, as I have from Show #1. I just heard you say you are coming to Colorado Springs!!!! Which station has finally picking you up?
“Hatchet Violence” causes death of 9-year old boy! How many more children must die before we wise up and outlaw hatchets? Surely hatchets are more dangerous than AR15′s since NOT ONE AR-15 has been involved of the death of a child this year in California.
Hi Mark,
Boy, are you going to love this. I found a web sight claiming that the NRA had just spent a lot of money on the Illinois primary to replace Jessie Jackson JR. When I challenged them on their “facts”, they became very irate. Anyway, here’s the link if you want to check it out. http://www.capitolhillblue.com/node/46643/comment-page-1#comment-235302
Everyone please keep in mind that the 2nd Amendment acknowledges our natural right (not a right given by government) to defend ourselves, but also removes the “right” of government to place any limitation on our natural right. Hence the phrase “… shall not be infringed.” It does not grant a right to us, but instead removes the “right” of government to act against our natural right. We must win the assault on freedom and liberty that is being waged by the most corrupt administration in modern times.
Keep up the very good work.Aregevernmont wants to have total gun control, it will not work. I work for the state of Florida in corrections. The officals in Washington D C are not dump but they do not care about gun rights. I thank they are personally scared that we have thwm.
Hey I am just getting to your story about the lady who returned the brinks cash. If I can (or you can) find out how to contact her I would like to send her some cash just for her honesty.
P.S. The reason why she would deserve the money she found is because she is honest enough to return it. That makes it so she cannot keep it. Her friends need to realize it is her honesty that makes them think so highly of her.
I’m getting tired of the anti Democrat rant. It isn’t being a democrat that is the problem it is the people ruling the democratic party that are the problem. I’ve been a registered democrat since I could vote. I don’t support the party line and it is one reason I am a member. It is so I can vote AGAINST all the anti gun zellots at the lower levels.
The only way to clean up a group that is gaining power is from within. If you divorce yourself form a goup then you have no say in what they do except at the top level. By then it is often too late. It is much easier to stop things before they become big.
The Republican party has its issues as well. Both groups have been come increasingly corrupt with each following its own direction. All our rights are being legislated away. Not just ‘arms’ but everything and from both sides.
Check out Wired magazine March issue.
Joanna Pearlstein has decided that “bullets have become cheaper, easier to use,”
So they should be banned.
The whole article is full of erroneous “facts”.
Have you heard any talk about an organized boycott on tourism to the state of Colorado? Obviously that’s one of their biggest sources of revenue, and if we could get Second Amendment supporters nationwide to boycott the state I think we could really make a difference. Living in Utah we used to camp there a lot, but Hickenlooper just guaranteed that won’t happen again.
Fealty Arms Crowd Sourcing’s Answer To Gun Control
You may have already heard of Fealty Arms. They are a upstart arms manufacturer based in Phoenix, AZ creating quite a buzz in the firearms community online. They are currently hosting a crowd sourcing campaign via RocketHub, a popular venue among start ups in which goods are gifted in exchange for financial backing to seed start up capital. Fealty Arms is currently holding their campaign to fund the build out and tooling of their shop and are quickly gaining momentum toward reaching their goal, by offering their backers Billet 80% AR 15 Lower Receivers for a minimum contribution of $65. Why 80% Lower Receivers, according to the frequently asked questions section of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearm’s website, “per provisions of the Gun Control Act (GCA) of 1968, 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44, an unlicensed individual may make a “firearm” as defined in the GCA for his own personal use, but not for sale or distribution.” Therefore since there is some work required to render one of these 80% Lower Receivers complete they are legal unregistered and unlicensed once completed. Fealty Arms is taking a fairly unconventional approach to the market, utilizing their immersion in their social network to fuel their marketing campaign and planning to maintain their supporter’s involvement by, “utilizing your feedback in design and development of new platforms, and formulating concepts to improve existing platforms through community based incentivized campaigns.” Co-Founder Jesse Frick defines their approach as, “Building a business through the firearms community, for the firearms community.” In an age of interaction overload, this concept sounds promising, to say the least. Why don’t the republicans in the house (and maybe senate too!) propose a bill similar to the democrats bill, but with the safeguards that we are looking for against a gun registry, and maybe we could even toss in a few benefits, like national reciprocity?
So my thought is that the republicans would propose a bill that has the name “Universal Background Check” in it, but is specifically calls out for the BIDS system to replace the current background check system, and it would specifically outlaw at both the federal and the state level any sort of gun/gun owner registry. It also could tie national reciprocity to it. The only thing that we may have to give up on is a BIDS background check for private gun sales……but I personally am OK with that, if we gained something significant like national reciprocity. If republicans commit to voting for such a bill, the Dems may choose to go along with it to get the universal background checks rather than to take the chance on their own bill failing altogether. What do you think?
The ignorance displayed is astounding and appalling at the same time. Why do stupid people with no education and background on the subject feel they’re experts? Because they’re stupid, that’s why.
Straight to the point; I’m sure you are aware of the NRA’s 2013 Tag Poll (Truth About Gun Owners)… If not, here’s a link: http://www.2013tag.org/?f=1321C10010
While searching the web for my daily dose of updates this morning, I stumbled across a rather frustrating article on a website aimed solely at demonizing the NRA and fellow gun owners, I mean patriots..! Rather you personally feel that this information is pertinent or not, I felt the need to share it with you and your audience in an attempt to expose these cowards.
The article was posted on March, 28 via the following link:
By a coward who fears using his real name on the articles he posts (ewmorr). While I’m not completely floored by this article, I’m sure there are many more like it. Right to opinion is one thing, but publicly asking for help to ‘Skew’ a poll aimed at achieving positive results is sickening and to me is no different than the school yard bully.
Thank you Mark and Seanto, as well as your continued brilliant guest speakers and all of your efforts. Be safe and God Bless.
Mark. This guy, Michael Tom is my neighbor. See how the story leads you to believe that he passed a background check. Total lie. This guy is a deranged metal case with a LONG history of threats of suicide and homicide. He should have been institutionalized long ago.
Mark,
I wanted to send this to you in regards to Rob Pincus. I am a life member os the NRA, I own several firearms and I listen to your show via podcast. I Love the show!! I wanted to let you know just what a great guy Rob Pincus is. I had a problem with my Glock 19 (installed a stainless steel guide rod) I couldnt find out if everyone else was haveing the same problem as me. It would not let my slide go all the way back forward. I took a shot at sending Rob a message( on his facebook )and within mimutes he replied with great advice, which was basically”trash the steel rod”. It was just amazing to me that someone with such a busy schedule would take the time to help out. It was really appreciated. Its great to have guys like Yourself,Shaunto, and Rob Pincus out there fighting for us and actually really caring. Keep up the great work and please thank Rob for me when you see him

Let me tell you how Colorado’s elected bums voted for these horrible laws:
They completely ignored testimony -and there was a LOT- and rammed it through because they were promised loads of campaign cash from Bloomberg. They were bought and paid for.
I know. I was there -invited by Senator Scott Renfroe to testify FOR arming teachers.
In a room with over a hundred people, FOUR were there to testify against arming teachers.
Everyone else, teachers, parents, police officers, veterans, and all sorts of folks testified for this bill that would defend our kids in schools.
I’d never heard of this radio show or been able to listen to it if it wasn’t for the Android/Ios app “Stitcher” It’s a day behind so I have to wait till Monday to listen to it but being able to listen on my phone, tablet or computer is fantastic, I can pause it and then start to listen again from another location, you should see if they could sponsor you folks, it’s another and a great way to access the radio show. http://www.stitcher.com/

Anti Gunner Confiscators are on a full court press around the Country to take our guns and rights away…any way they can take them.
I LOVE THIS!
Ms. Feinstein can barely put two words together in response to a common sense question from Ted Cruz. All that seems to come out is emotion.

Hi Mark,
Below is a link to a friend of mine’s son wrote and produced. The name of the song is: “Don’t Try and Take My Guns Away” by Jordan Bales (age 19).
I am sending this to you as I believe you may find it interesting and if you like it, would like you to maybe play it on your show at some point.

Thank you for your consideration

Mark,
Have you heard any talk about an organized boycott on tourism to the state of Colorado?
Hey Mark,
Why don’t the republicans in the house (and maybe senate too!) propose a bill similar to the democrats bill, but with the safeguards that we are looking for against a gun registry, and maybe we could even toss in a few benefits, like national reciprocity?
Happy Friday Mark,
Great show last week…
Straight to the point; I’m sure you are aware of the NRA’s 2013 Tag Poll (Truth About Gun Owners)… If not, here’s a link: http://www.2013tag.org/?f=1321C10010
While searching the web for my daily dose of updates this morning, I stumbled across a rather frustrating article on a website aimed solely at demonizing the NRA and fellow gun owners, I mean patriots..! Rather you personally feel that this information is pertinent or not, I felt the need to share it with you and your audience in an attempt to expose these cowards.
The article was posted on March, 28 via the following link:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/03/28/1197704/-Skew-the-NRA-Poll-Rec-it-up
By a coward who fears using his real name on the articles he posts (ewmorr).

P.S. I’m sending this via email as well.

Keep up the great work and please thank Rob for me when you see him
Sincerely,
Big fan

You guys NEED to discuss this!:

Well, yesterday Obummer (Obama) was here in Denver using some police academy folks as props to push for more gun control.
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/politics/obama-to-speak-at-denver-police-academy-about-colorados-gun-control-laws
Two hours before, over a dozen Colorado sheriffs went to the area for a, “Pre-buttal” against Obama’s dog-and-pony show.

Anyhoo, keep up the great work, Mr Walters.
Since nationwide there is always some sort of 2nd amendment lawsuit going on, could you please have a guest on that knows where they are at right now and which are headed towards the Supreme Court, and if any are likely to be ground breakers.
Hi James! You just thanked him yourself! I have forwarded your comments and THANK YOU for tuning in!
