Armed American Radio (AAR) is the official radio program of the United States Concealed Carry Association
Mark you’re right. All of these damn establishment republicans
and talk show hosts should just keep those pie holes closed..
I’m getting sick of all the chatter.
The bottom line is we have another 4 years with
the great divider and chief … We all just have to deal with it.
We are still the greatest nation on earth and no politician can change that.
“God Bless the USA”
Mark, I e-mailed Del-Ton about the rifle you advertise and find that it comes with one magazine, not two, no sling and no cleaning kit. It does come with a hard case.
Change of subject. I posted this on my facebook last night and think more people need to hear it. this is in regards to a post m brother made…
Lets just assume that signing these petitions to secede is a good thing and we decided to do it. Do we really think the government (and those who side with the government) would give up without a fight? It will probably take more than signatures, probably some kind of action(whether it be war or gathering in numbers at the whitehouse, etc..). Either way i cant see an outcome forming over night.
I guess what im really thinking about, is imagine the amount of courage it would take. The desire for freedom would have to be great enough to pause your life, your careers, your dreams, leave your families forget your daily routines and habits. Now truly think about doing this and get a feel of the giant leap of faith it would be.
I wonder… how many Americans today could actually be this brave.
This is not yet a truly self defensive matter(which would make it easier to stand up and show courage) though alot of things need fixing in this nation. And alot of people will say it is defense. These petitions are on the offensive side.
This is not a decision to be taken lightly. In the long run this may or may not be for the better. But looking at the terrible possiblities of sacrifice we would make to get to a better side of this, sacrifice is something you must consider.
We’ve seen how quickly things can change in this world. This idea of seceding may or may not spread like wildfire but one thing is for sure, if it does than we have a decision to make.
This is something US citizens need to follow and learn about, and remain knowledgeable. There has not been talk this deep among the nation since the civil war.
Thanks for your show. I don’t get to listen live normally, but never miss a podcast. In the middle of listening to Sundays show right now. I would like to address the question of how people could vote “against our 2nd amendment rights”. During a discussion of the election I mentioned to my brother, a staunch union/democrat, that Democrats were the anti-gun party. He said “nobody brought up that issue in the election”. We’re unfortunately fighting ignorance as well as anti gunners as he was unaware of his own parties platform. During this conversation I also had an A/D (accidental disclosure). You’d have thought I brandished and threatened to kill everyone in the room who disagreed with me. Despite being “gun owners” and “pro-carry” I’m no longer allowed in my parents or brothers house all because I never leave my cave without my club.
Here is a story of a mom protecting herself in a park from a flasher in Washington State while her 6 year old is playing nearby-
It is interesting to read comments on this newspaper site – quite a ways into the comments it looks like the woman defends her actions by saying “my son is dying and I will take him anywhere he wants to go” It is sad she even needs to defend her proper action on pulling her concealed carry on this perv!!
thanks for your show!!!!
Rubio and West
with the recent executive order singed by o, your going to put your name on a list?
you can be detained indefanttly without due proccess
Just started listening about a month ago. I have to be tell you that although I have known about your show for 2 years or more. (2 GCO conventions and the Gun Rights Conference). I am now I am a avid listener, I look forward (there’s that word again) to listening every week. Keep up the good work.
Mark, I’ve not had chance to listen to this weeks show as yet, its still down loading. But I thought that I would take the time to Thankyou for forwarding.g my last email. I have also been reading through a lot of the comments that have been left buy other viewers. Is there any way people are able to follow the threads or comments, some of the comments left buy people are not pertinent to me but I find interesting. I.e. the gentleman regarding his past fellony convictions. While he may have little or no interest on my thoughts, we do have interest in yours.
If we didn’t you wouldn’t have a show.
Keep up the great work,.
carry your gun and use it.work out the consequences later.you have a right to possess a firearm once the crime has been paid for.my brother carried in california without a permit for over 25 years.because of a henious murder in close proximity to his home and the failure of leo’s to respond for fear of their safety caused the rape, torture and death of 2 kidnapped college students going to reno.the young man was shot over 60 times and chopped up and buried in 6 holes.the girl was shotgunned in the stomach and left down an embankment completely naked and covered in snow my brother became aware of this and alerted lassen county california sheriffs dept.and was told.its dark and none of our cops will go in until daylite.he cursed them for the cowards they ARE,ran and got my younger brother and they went to rescue ,but missed the perverts by about an hour..the cops all became aware of this brother ,because he was very vocal about their cowardice.the county sheriff called him into his office one day and informed him that all the deputies and susanville calif, police knew he went around armed.the sheriff said someday one of my officers will have to kill you in which my brother leaned in and told this idiot if they ever try it not to miss because he wouldn’t.then stated btw i am very good at it.they never could bust him for illegal carry. oh and he could hit a fly at a hundred yards and actually did dispatch at least 3 that i know of.not cops but bully bad guys who threatened him.the cops in lassen county were flat scared of my brother and had good reason.he never hurt an innocent person but would kill without remorse a pervert.cop or no cop and they knew it.pack your gun or die like a dog,its your choice.the feds just want to disarm us.its easier to murder us that way
I was responding to his comment on #2.
Mark. Just read your column, USCC, Oct. 2012. Very disturbing. Fortunately for those of us that DON’T listen to ‘talk radio’ it is only “once every four years that [you] are let out of [your] cage to unload..” I’ve been a subscriber to USCC for almost as long as they have been in existence, hold a Platinum Plus protection plan, have purchased numerous programs sponsored by USCC & find most all of their articles very engaging & very informative, & have held a Concealed Carry permit in several states for the past 20 years.
BUT…I have to say that when it comes to articles such as your most recent, you are a real turn-off. Please don’t misunderstand…you certainly have a right to your opinions…it’s just a shame that you base them on ill-founded or non-existant “facts”.
Firstly your disdain & disprespect for the man that holds the highest office of this country, & who was elected by an OVERWHELMING majority of the popular vote as well as an OVERWHELMING Electoral College vote…is very disturbing. You refer to his as “lousy”…in & of itself a very disgusting term. You accuse him of being a “gun hating President”, & yet their has been no evidence of that in his previous 4 years, & I might remind you to the contrary he in fact signed into law the ability to carry in National Parks. I’m sure we could argue endlessly about your vision of our nation “hurtling down the road to socialism”…(I’m confident no one in your family has ever collected social security, taken advantage of medicare or medicaid, or reped the benefits of public education)….. And as to “gun-grabbing”…..just another “dog-whistle” those of your ilk love tossing about. You pretty well lock yourself in to only one (paranoid) side of the ‘gun issue’ when you list your ‘support group’….including Mr Sanity himself…Ted Nugent.
Your reference to the Presidents use of the “executive order” implies that PRESIDENT OBAMA somehow misues that function…when a cursory check of the history of executive order use by him & other Presidents will show that his use of the EO is considerably less than that of other presidents….including the most recent repub “W”.
You ‘state’ that their is “legitimate, real conern–based on past statements & action that he will use his executive pen to limit ammo sales, wipeout online sales altogether, etc. etc. etc”…but you have NO facts to point to or to quote that would substantiate such drivel. If you did….you would have stated them.
What you refer to as “legitimate”….”real”…concerns are nothing more than the rants of a sore loser that believes that the GOP has the ‘God-given” right to hold the top office of the land.
You exist in a world of talk radio hosts that create their own facts….along with the Faux Radio Network spokesmen…AND women that could not make a living doing any kind of an honest days work, & can only spur on the type of hateful venom that does nothing to help this country….but only tends to assure the continuing racist venom that permeates the right wing radio & tv.
That being said……….I still do respect your right to spew your hate, & look forward to your next column.
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.
I have been visiting many of your sponsors, especially holster companies.
None list Hi-Point, an American made weapon from Ohio, as a weapon they make a holster for.
Cane we get some love from your sponsors? I have yet to find a suitable holster for any of my 3 Hi-Points (9mm, 40, and 45)
I caught your program for the first time tonight. I recently acquired a Kel-Tec PMR 30. It was recommended to me by a gun department manager as a viable defense weapon because of the magazine capacity in spite of smaller caliber. I was able to walk into a gun shop and purchase immediately because it had just come in and was offered it by an owner on the spot who had the salesman make it available to me. It was at regular retail price, no gouging. I was there only to find out more about it, but had been informed that there was a “waiting list’ an arm long. I moved immediately to purchase it. I assume I made the right move.
There are several important things I want to mention:
I recently contacted Senators objecting to the NDAA ruling that was about to go down. Fortunately (or providentially), Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, introduced an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act Wednesday that would protect American citizens from being indefinitely detained.
The amendment, which is cosponsored by several other Republican and Democratic senators, uses essentially the same language as the Due Process Guarantee Act, which Feinstein and Lee introduced last year. The language of the amendment assures that no authorization to use military force, war declaration, or any similar authority would allow an American apprehended in the United States to be held without charge or trial (it can be seen at http://www.stgeorgeutah.com/news/archive/2012/11/29/feinstein-lee-introduce-amendment-to-ndaa-to-protect-civil-liberties/).
Rand Paul and others sponsored the amendment to the NDAA legislation (Senators Coons, D. Del., Collins, R. Maine, Lautenberg, D-N.J., Gillibrand, D-N.Y., Kirk, D-Ill., Tester, D-Mont., Johnson, D-S.D., Sanders, I-Vt., Whitehouse, D-R.I., Baucus, D-Mont., and Heller, R-Nev.)
It passed in the afternoon of November 29, (see http://www.examiner.com/article/senate-passes-ndaa-amendments). Rand Paul’s presentation is on video there also.
My last text sent included the following concepts that need to be plainly stated:
“…This damnable present version of the NDAA could be utilized by any emergent despotic ruler who somehow takes power and decides to “for our own good” to allow his agents to freely imprison elements of the population (especially those who do not agree politically with him) and place them in special camps and “detention facilities” that in reality are nothing more than “concentration camps” with “FEMA” stickers on the gates.
Do I recall that at Auschwitz incoming Jews were taken to the “showers” to the sounds of violin music played by other concentration camp inmates? They were led down that “primrose path” all the way to the crematorium. Of course the “government” did all this for the “public good” didn’t they? Suspension of public “Constitutional” freedoms then, in that MISLED CULTURE, was characterized as “a temporary necessary measure due to the current crisis,” but it (supposedly) was not meant to be a “permanent measure.” Six Million Jews and countless others INVOLUNTARILY participated in Hitler’s version of the “FEMA Camp” and were placed there under his “NDAA” style provisions made into law “for the good of the nation” as “a temporary NECESSARY measure.”
Any Senator or Representative “worth his salt” would HAVE TO OPPOSE ratification of the current version of the NDAA executive order proposal. To not stand in this position of opposition to NDAA IN ITS PRESENT FORM is siding with legalization or implementation of a “FLAWED” National Defense Authorization Act, which itself if implemented into law is tantamount to “treasonous conduct” against the US Constitution and treason against “WE THE PEOPLE” who, in reality, ARE the Nation.
To emphatically restate the obvious: this “Nation” against which treasonous acts would be committed (by adoption of the currently proposed NDAA without proper amendment) is not the largely Un-regulated “government” in Washington. ITS CITIZENS are the “NATION” and the “Citizens” will not and SHOULD NOT tolerate being held captive to any regime (or “Reich”) that will (treasonously) not submit itself to that Founding Document which defines, NOT the limits that should be placed on citizens, but which instead, DEFINES THE LIMITS OF ANY GOVERNMENT THAT WOULD PLACE ITSELF ABOVE THE PEOPLE AND set itself to damage ITS “HIGHEST LAW,” (THE US CONSTITUTION), AND THAT WOULD TREASONOUSLY DO HARM TO THAT “NATION” (THE “NATION” ITSELF BEING ITS CITIZENRY, not its appointed governmental leadership)…”
I also saw a video today that addressed this issue last year. Mr. Obama is quoted as saying “the Constitution is ‘flawed,’ and that He ‘takes issue with it.” This is a direct reference to his attitude toward the document that has kept this nation “glued together” and which has provided the freedoms that US Veterans died to protect.
To get a handle on this see “Obama Signs NDAA Martial Law” on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NW-e7z7S6VI&feature=endscreen&NR=1.
It is my opinion that Mr. Obama is “getting positioned” by himself or by the maneuverings of others (possibly George Soros as well) to implement a “takedown” of the Constitution and participate in implementation of anti-sovereignty One World Government rule over these United States Of America (as sponsored by the EEU, its improper Gorbechov-Vatican connection and association with other groups of very negative ilk).
I also anticipate that if there is Martial Law implemented, there may be in the works some kind of agreement to bring in Russian troops rather than potentially Pro-Constitution American soldiers (also to sidestep the Posse Comitatus Act), especially to bring the Southwestern states with its many gun owners “into line.” It is always good to really “know who your enemy really is” (Beware of shooting at a friend whom you have not properly identified).
This may have gotten President Kennedy assassinated. He was about reveal what may be the real “culprit” that inhibits our freedom: Anniversary of JFK Death Speech on Secret Societies (see at http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/archive.cgi?read=188330).
(To get a better view of who this “real enemy” may be, see “This is how they plan to KILL us” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Djgsg8pik20). There also may be “hints” in this video as to how the unanticipated 2012 presidential “election surprise” came about (that very few up to now have given serious thought to) that took Carl Rove, Dick Morris and others by such great surprise.
You may also find it interesting to listen to this above mentioned video — it may shed light on what has been happening “behind the scenes” and out of sight of the American people from the beginning of the last century until today. This viewpoint may have been too “conspiratorial” for most to “take seriously” in the past, but the case seems well made by the speaker on this 10 minute video that should “open the eyes” of anyone to the likely reality of his statements.
Part of the history of that reality is the “conspiracy” that took place in 1913 when supposed “duck hunter” bankers (led by Daniel Warburg) met to supposedly “shoot” on Jekyll Island, when in fact they were there to implement and foist the Federal Reserve Hoax on the American People within a year or two. To this day we have been being continually “ruined” by the “bait and switch” tactic they used to get this “legal theft ring” implemented.
If you want to get insight into how the Federal Reserve and other One World Government seekers have gotten into such powerful positions, refer to Irvin Baxter’s “The Dragon’s Master Plan” (go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE7WQ4kwm_c or order the video directly at http://store.endtime.com/master-plan-of-the-dragon-dvd).
Irvin Baxter WILL BE ON COAST TO COAST, TOMORROW, DECEMBER 3RD (on WOAI Radio 1200 in this area). I just found out when I went to this site for this information! He has excellent insights into current events and history few know about.
Thanks for having your radio program in this area.
As a new listener, maybe I did not get the full picture. I am concerned with the statement you made regarding a
“recent” event or scenero. The situation described person while at a diner, the vehicle owner bbserved two subjects doing what he believed a vehicle prowl. I agree 100% that any person, should NOT interject themselves into a use of force scene without grave necessity.
However, I believe I heard you state that the appropriate response would have and/or was for the armed owner to notify the manager call the police and confront the subjects.
Although I agree the best scenero wsa to avoid the confrontation and call the police. I cannot grasp why anyone would advocate for the unarmed person to then confront possible lethal situation.
Please clarify if I miss heard the dialog.
Sorry I failed to add the PodcCast dated 11/25/2012 in I believe hour 1 but may have been the 2nd…
I first wanted to say thank you for what you and Seanto do to protect our 2nd Amendment rights. I am an Army veteran and have served two combat tours in Iraq, been a security officer for nearly 5 years in both Dallas and in Orlando and received training at the US Training Center at the Xe property. I am currently employed as an armed security officer in Orlando, Florida and I am concerned if this administration goes through with their liberal agendas, I might be unemployed just due to the fact that I carry a firearm. I listen to your show every Sunday night on AM 660 while I am working a 12hour armed post.
PS- This is one vet who doesnt leave his cave without his club
I never leave home unarmed. I just dont patronize any business that prohibits me from carrying.
Hey Hal, what planet have you been living on? Obama has publicly stated that he wants to ban “assult weapons” (under his definition your Remington 1180, 30-06, .308, etc. would go bye-bye). He publicly stated that he supports the UN small arms treaty. Now that he is a lame duck he doesn’t have to worry about getting re-elected. The 100% real Barack Obama will emerge now. Just look at his voting records concerning guns when he was an Illinois senator and his record as a US senator. Just remember “from my cold dead fingers”
Congratulations on the success of AAR. I have been a long time listener and was fortunate enough to have you and Massad Ayoob answer a question on my apprehension in carrying “cocked and locked” with my 1911. I now carry a Ruger SR40c with a crimson trace laser in an Old Faithful holster and an much more comfortable.

Recently I have been traveling to Florida on a regular basis and am interested in what the reciprocity of my Georgia firearms license means in Florida. As a responsible gun owner, is there anything I should be aware of that is different from the regulations in my home state. Do I need to apply for a permit in this state since I travel there regularly? Could you and your guests add this to the many subjects you cover (Maybe a round table discussion). I look forward to listening to your thoughts as I follow you on podcasts. Keep up the great work
I was at the recent gun show in Tulsa,(Wannenmakers),and came upon the booth for USCCA.
These people were back up against the wall, out of the main flow of traffic, and were being totally ignored and unfound.
They did everything short of dancing on the tables to get attention,(although I did try to talk the cute blond lady into it) , all to no avail.
When I was at the booth I was helping out at i encouraged folks to at least stop by and talk to them, but I don’t know if it had any results.
`Mark, you are not shy about telling us where you will be, couldn’t you mention when the other members of your team/association will be places? It is a shame when you have people at what is arguably one of best and biggest gun shows in the country and nobody is aware of them.
People come from all over to this show.(I used to travel there from California and now come from Michigan), and many of them would like to have the information your people can provide.
Please help everybody, your associates, your fans, your possible future members, by mentioning which gunshows they will be at.
(Please do not give out my last name if you read this on air) Dennis La Fortune
Hello Mark i`m a new listner and just want to thank you for all you do. Your radio show is very informative and your story is great about how AAR was born. I also dropped a hint to my girlfriend about getting a subscription to concealed carry magazine and the next day i had one Great magaizine. Keep up the good work.
Allen T mcdowell..
“Your porch appears attractive. I believe the variegated leaf plant can be a Coleus.”
Great show as always.
Yes a lot of the bars in England or more especially the clubs have band drinking glasses, yeah this may sound funny. But the consequent injuries from having one smashed in your face buy some drunk jerk is quite horrific. I’m pretty sire if you Google the images you’d agree.
I would like to talk to Mark Walters about an interview on my outdoor radio show.
New listener here. I was writing simply to ask: what legitimate reason does anyone have for owning an assault rifle?
Now, don’t get me wrong, I believe a legitimate reason is simply because its my right and I want to but, I have people who ask this and I want to better respond to their question.
I am a recent addition to the CHL carriers here in Oregon and a long time advocate of our second amendment.
Thanks for your show, I wish all the liberal gun-grabbers would listen to you for a week.
Met you at GRPC/Chicago, listen to your show regularly. I surely will be listening to this next one to hear comments on the recent 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling the IL ban on concealed carry as unconstitutional. Great thanks to NRA/ISRA – Shepard v Madigan and SAF/IllinoisCarry – Moore v Madigan. You interviewed Valinda Rowe whom you met at GRPC/Chicago.
I can see where to GET an subscription, but I’m interested in getting a couple family members their own subscriptions (I’m a USCCA member myself…) as a gift for Christmas. Unfortunately, the site doesn’t appear to have provisions for GIFT subscriptions (especially to know when the first copy would arrive!), and there’s no contact info to ask HOW to do so on the site. I know you’re close to Tim Schmidt—could you query him about it?
Listener of AAR since the beginning!
Here we go again…
Now little o with come out with full gun ban and the people drinking the kool-aid with make us gun owners outcasts
Very, very sad. Yet another massacre in a “gun-free zone”. They just don’t get it.
Sandy Hook, CT
In 1650 the state of Connecticut required every colonist to protect their Freedom & their life by carrying a gun to church or traveling away from home, unless a sick wife needed it to stay behind.
Contrast that to CT today where Freedom has been turned up-side-down with strict gun regulations. Yet the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter in Newtown, CT came from NJ, the state known for even More strict gun control laws. It shows that gun control laws don’t work . . . “bad guys” will always get a gun or a knife.
The NJ & CT politicians Knowingly & Intentionally put the Sandy Hook Kids at RISK by inventing the concept of gun-free zones and thereby create Marshmallow Victims when they disarm all the teachers, parents, and responsible citizens !!
In their own language, just like in DC, there are SENSITIVE Areas, VULNERABLE areas, where politicians know security is needed YET . . . they still intentionally disarm everyone, sometimes even the “security” staff, and create an inviting environment for criminals, the domestic violence prone, and terrorists.
This is nothing more than a continual tyrannical & Un-Constitutional push to disarm everyone to create these inviting killing fields, and then turn around and TRY to blame it on the truly responsible law & order citizens who want to defend their families and the public. When will responsible citizens declare, “ENOUGH !!” ?
The insanity of this vile, evil, immoral, failed political process is best illustrated by William S. Burroughs (1914-1997),
“After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn’t do it.”
Both Mark & MarkWalters@ArmedAmericanRadio.net
did not work. Please advise.
(Excerpted from a thread on AR15.com)
There was another gun in the Clackamas Town Center on Tuesday.
The only argument against concealed carry is that untrained civilians are too quick to shoot. If he HAD shot, it would have made the news as, “Concealed carrier makes mall shooting worse by firing into crowd”.
Even though he didn’t shoot, this man may have saved many lives.
With all the negative media talk about guns after the Connecticut shooting, I had to think about how to talk to my boys. They know their dad carries a gun and has a gun-related website. Does that mean Dad is somehow bad, because he’s a “gun guy?”
Anyway, I wrote down my thoughts as I went throught it all. It’s a little long, so I’ll just give you the link: http://www.gungab.info/
Looking forward to the show.
I’m a new listener, USCCA member, 20 year army veteran, army pistol and rifle competition shooter for over 5 years, gun owner since I was in my teens, and carry permit holder throughout my adult life whenever legally able.
I’m just an average working guy, putting in 70+ hours a week providing for my family. I’m not rich or politically connected. I think I’m about as average an example of the mainstream, pro-second amendment working stiff as you can find anywhere. Married once, for 16 years, to the same woman, two children, three dogs, two cats, three grandchildren, a fairly “nuclear” family.
That being said, i want to applaud you and your associates for producing a professional, down to earth, easy to understand radio program that focuses on our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Our personal liberty was earned in combat against a tyrannical government and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to picture the environment and frame of mind of those who created our constitution.
Given that these men were attempting to construct a framework within which the liberties they had fought for could be preserved, can anyone doubt their intent to preserve an individual right to possess the very kinds of tools that enabled them to secure our liberty in the first place?
They trusted in the basic good and honor that we as Americans demonstrate time and time again and in our ability to be entrusted with the responsibility of defending our families, country, and way of life. These
American traits haven’t changed between then and now although i do believe that they have been seriously diluted by those that don’t understand them and are often actively derisive of them. Even so, our Constitution is still as relevant today as it was then and deserves our respect.
I read somewhere, and I’m paraphrasing, that an anti-gunner is just a pro-gun advocate that hasn’t yet seen his or her wife or daughter raped and murdered by a street gang, burgler, drug addict, or the like. Gun ban advocates, liberals in general, have an uncanny ability to stay disconnected from the horrors that go on around them. They think in ideological terms as if banning guns is going to magically change the violent, hateful, and dishonorable activity in the world. We, on the other hand, understand that events of this kind are not only possible but statistically probable within most demographics. We choose not to wait until confronted with these horrors to prepare ourselves.
1. I *always* have my club within reach where legal to do so.
2. I don’t frequent places where that right is infringed upon unless absolutely unavoidable.
3. I *hate* Cool-Aid.
Thank you for your dedication to the preservation of our Second Amendment guarantees and your willingness to share your patriotic activities with those of us who can’t always carry out the fight ourselves.
Evil witch Sen. Feinstein is nothing but a life long gun grabber. As a former Police Officer & Child Abuse Investigator, I believe that all “Gun Free Zone,” are at fault for all mass shootings, and not armed CCW holders.
I realize you have to pay for the show by selling advertisement time, but can’t you do that while not cutting off Lt Col Grossman in mid=sentence??
My heart and prayers go out to the defenseless children/parents in Sandy Hook school.
Was glued to the radio tonight Mark waiting for your show to come on and I was not disappointed!
Thanks for your being the voice for those of us who can’t speak other than our vote.
Andrea Mitchell, MSNBC, was on minutes after looking to blame 2nd Amendment and NRA!
Wow, let the debate start in the Congress, I’ll be contacting my Senator and Congressman today.
Mark, Please get this on the show if possible. This link is to information on the Clackamus Oregon shooting. It was stopped by a CCW holder. You didn’t see that on the news, BUT you can watch the interview on the local TV channel here. http://www.kgw.com/news/Clackamas-man-armed-confronts-mall-shooter-183593571.html
Regards, Dr. Dan BTW I wrote started the Constitutional Carry of Arms in Pike County Illinois. You can see more at my blog. I listen on WBBA radio… Keep up the good work…
What about the bad ammo that is out there.
Saw a revolver that exploded from ammo maid in china.
Thanks for your program, I enjoy listening to it each week from the podcast. Due to your program and several guests, I have been inspired to contact the politicians that represent me in Washington. Below is a letter that I sent to Senator McConnell, Senator Rand Paul and Representative Massie, of which are from my state of Kentucky. Please feel free to pass this along, in part or whole during your broadcast. I would consider it an honor. Keep up the Great Work of delivering “.44 caliber silver bullets of Freedom.”
Friend in Arms, Jim Sutherland
Dear Senator McConnell,
I am a Freedom Loving, Conservative Christian, Sheep Dog Patriot living in rural Kentucky. I do not have any affiliation with any special interest groups and speak only on my behalf. As a husband and father, I am given the task, by God, to serve and protect my family and to be a contributing citizen to society. By writing this letter, I feel that I am taking that first step in making a difference for our future. This is my first contact with a Government Official such as you. I thank you for your dedication to serving our country in the manner in which you do and for the leadership you show as our Republican Leader on Capitol Hill. I can only imagine the stress you are under during the trying time our country is now facing. Thank you for taking time to read this letter.
I am taking this opportunity to voice my concerns regarding the current and future state of our country. My prayers go out to the victims and families of the senseless tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. There is no excuse for this loss of life, let alone that of such young children. We are being bombarded with photos, from the media, of the children, teachers and families, and hearing stories of heroes that protected the children the best they could. We see communities pulling together to provide comfort for those who lost loved ones. This is all necessary for healing. But, in the mix, we see those whose agenda is to exploit this tragedy to push a ban or more control on firearms. I am appalled, but not surprised. I know how unscrupulous the liberal leaders can be and this tops the charts.
Any legislation that is brought to the table during this time is bred through emotions and should be tabled until logically evaluated. During such evaluation, please keep in mind, Mr. Lanza and those like him, will execute their demonic plans with a butter knife, if that is all that they have available. There are gun control measures already in legislation; did they stop this from happening? No. Imposing more controls will not prevent future tragedies such as this. What it will do is un-arm the law abiding citizen and keep them from protecting their families and themselves. Look at examples of the crime rates in Chicago and New York, the criminals still have guns despite the control measures that are in place. Senseless murders still happen in the streets and homes. What we have done is to strip the citizen of the tool necessary to face the violent attacker and eliminate the threat. Criminals have stated that their worst threat in executing a crime is the armed citizen that will stand up to them.
Mr. Senator, I implore you to beat down any proposals for stricter gun laws or restriction of any weapons that may come into the cabinet. As a Representative of the Citizens, please listen to what we are saying. Gun laws don’t work. Most importantly, uphold our Constitution. You have taken that oath. Any legislation that takes away our rights to bear arms and to protect our families is Un-Constitutional and poses a threat to our Freedoms. Not only do we have the military to protect our country, but armed citizens. Remember the United States Revolution? Common farmers dealt fierce blows to the British. May our God in Heaven forbid, but if our country is ever invaded, the military will have the backing of the people. With the current military cuts and the vastness of our country, the military will need help and that help will be from the armed citizens. These are the same people the liberals are trying to un-arm. Even they are afraid of an armed society, like most fallen dictators have been. This is why George Washington stated, “A free people should be an armed people. It ensures against the tyranny of the government, if they know that the biggest army is the American people.”
Mr. McConnell, please take a close look at our Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Think of those whom you serve. Take a stand against those who wish to infringe on those freedoms. Push back Senators Feinstein and Schumer and Governors Bloomberg and Malloy. Stand strong with Senator Gohmert. Stand strong for America. Stand strong for Freedom.
James C. Sutherland
Thank you for all you and Shawn do.
Do you know if any of the college campus concealed carry groups out there are legitimate? I have heard on the show a time or two.
I am a “wild eyed freshman” (not) at a nearby college and I don’t like getting out of class late in the evening and walking naked back to my car in the dark. I have sent three or four emails to these guys but I never hear back.
I would think I am the kind of guy they are looking for to testify a legislative hearings, to wit:
Graduate School Masters of Teaching Candidate
Concealed Carry Licensee
Part-time Public School Teacher
Lawyer for 25 years (oh well)
Boy Scout Archery & shooting Instructor
Parent of a college student who also has a CCW license; (my high school student will get a permit at 18 and before graduation
P.S What black hole has the NRA fallen into?
Once again the enemies of freedom have taken the field, unopposed.
I wanted to email you to see if you would publicly post
my interaction with Crossbreed Holsters. Short back story; as most gun owners I at a time stored a drawer full of holsters that never really performed as advertised. I came across Crossbreed around 2009, the tag line at the time was the ugliest holster you’ll ever wear. True to their word it was the ugliest but most comfortable holster I ever bought. From 2009 to December 2012 I wore that
Super Tuck every day, for 1,095 days it was on my body through the hottest and coldest days Kansas can offer, and in every type of daily activity from gardening, digging, auto maintenance, or just sitting down on the floor building Legos with my son.
This month I broke my Super Tuck, I do not know how, one
day I was cleaning the leather when I discovered a crack down the edge of the Kydex that covers the trigger guard of my XD subcompact. I contacted Crossbreed to get shipping instructions, and off it went with a note, describing my discovery.
What I got back was a total shock; I had expected just
the repair or replacement of the Kydex riveted back onto the old leather backing. I went as far as to instruct them not to worry about the leather as I had cut some material to affect the way I drew my firearm on my own accord, and did not anticipate any work to be done on that portion of the holster. Yesterday December 17th I received in the mail a brand new holster, brand new Mark. But the most astounding part of this whole experience was I had received a
Combat Cut Super Tuck, not only was my holster replaced, I was given a more expensive holster than my original purchase. Who does that Mark? What company out there sees that their holster was customized by the customer quite potentially against warranty, understands what they were attempting, and sends out a new Combat Cut holster. Now I know,Crossbreed does!
I have always talked up Crossbreed to friends within my
social circle. But because of my most excellent experience with Crossbreed’s customer service, I really want to do more and let people know on a national level. So for your audience and beyond; there are thousands of holsters on the market to choose from, and if you are making a list of potential purchases for a new holster, Crossbreed needs to be the only name on your list, they.. are..
that.. good. Thank You Crossbreed, Sorry for your painful lost, and God bless you this Christmas season.
copy of letter sent to both US Senators and Congressman for MO 3rd District:
To Whom is may concern,
I would like to take this sad time in our Country to contact you and urge action to protect the most precious resource in America, our children. It is time to provide our Country with the tools to stop these evil doers before they can cause injury or death. I ask that you honor those brave Administrators and Teachers in Newtown, CN by granting those who would be so inclined in the future access to the tools that would result in their extraordinary sacrifice being more than a futile act. I urge you to support the National Right to Carry Resciprocity bill currently under consideration. I also ask you to add an amendment to this important legislation to allow Administrators and Teachers who have Concealed Carry Permits the ability to carry on school property. We must provide the tools necessary to prevent this kind of tragedy in the future.
I know you get it, but I just wanted to share an open letter to the NRA that I sent in response to the innocent victims of Connecticut’s gun free school zone law.
* * * * *
Like you, I’m very worried about the tone of the current national debate over gun control in the wake of the horrible event in Connecticut.
Currently the debate is framed in terms of what compromises the gun rights side (i.e. the NRA) is going to make.
The NRA really needs to change the debate and get off the defensive! The anti-gunners should be the ones defending gun-free zones instead of the NRA defending ‘assault’ weapons and magazines.
I hope you agree that the NRA had better propose some kind of national legislation to end the ban on self-defense in our nation’s schools. If this is the NRA’s response at this coming Friday’s news conference, then suddenly the national dialogue will be about gun-free school zones = killing zones and NOT semi-automatic firearms = weapons of mass murder.
I’m suggesting reasonable national legislation as follows:
Congress should require States to provide one of the following at every school:
• Employ a trained law-enforcement officer that is armed
• Employ a trained security guard that is armed
• Allow trained volunteer security to be armed
• Allow trained faculty or staff members to be armed
• Or be required to allow private carry on campus (i.e. licensed trained permit holders).
The States get to make the choice; they may allocate educational funds for an armed police officer or simply allow private licensed carry with no fiscal impact. Either way, gun free school zone massacres would be a thing of the past and it is about time!
If the NRA pushes this, as a non-negotiable condition to EVEN considering other gun-control measures, then the national debate has instantly changed. The antis will have to defend the concept of gun-free zones, while at the same time the above legislation doesn’t necessarily require the States to spend a single dime if they opt for allowing volunteer or private carry.

Mark feel free to share this letter. I can only hope that the top brass of the NRA listen to your show!
I came upon this letter on youtube prepared by a pro-gun blogger to send to your congressmen. I’ve already sent it to mine as well as my governor. Please share it on AAR and spread it around. The more we can get this circulated and sent to Washington the better we can make our voices heard.
Yours in freedom,
I’m writing this letter in the hopes that like myself, you respect fully our Second Amendment rights and understand that this right is not about hunting or sport shooting but about being able to have a way to defend our freedom and liberty, both personally (self defense against criminals) and publicly (the ability to defend against tyranny if needed).
I also hope that in truly understanding the second amendment, that you understand that the recent “knee jerk” reaction to the horrible tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary in CT, in the form of pushing for new Anti Second Amendment gun legislation, is something that will lead to nothing but further restriction on U.S. citizen’s freedom and liberty and will not help to deter the type of tragedies that we unfortunately saw recently.
Limiting private sales will not effect a criminal’s ability to obtain a firearm. Reinstating a new Assault Weapons Ban will not stop these horrible incidents from happening as is clearly evidenced by tragedies like the Columbine shooting that took place during a time when we as a nation lived under an Assault Weapons Ban and it had no effect in stopping that tragedy from happening.
An Assault Weapons Ban only effects a small portion of the firearms sold and owned in this country and we know from FBI studies that these types of weapons only account for about 0.2% of gun violence in this country.
Common sense tells us that banning firearms based on how they look and referring to them as “Military Style Weapons”, is simply a scare tactic to make these firearms seem evil to the uninformed.
With an estimated 300,000,000 guns in this country, 99.999999999% of them weren’t used to murder anyone or commit any crime on that day. Almost all of them were safely carried, stored, and used with no ill effects.
Creating laws to regulate guns only effects those who obey the law, not the mentally ill or criminal minded individuals who’ve continued to create crime and tragedy regardless of what laws are enacted and what weapons they have available to them.
I sincerely hope that any and all legislation related to firearms, that makes its way to you and is in any way and infringement on our Second Amendment protected, Natural Born Rights, will be treated appropriately and receive a NO vote from you.
I thank you for your time,
If these anti-gunners are so absolutely against the evil the gun/s have done, I ask where is the outrage for the final kill… the gun also took the life of the murderer.
If it is not an emotional, knee jerk reaction to the atrocities committed during such a rampage then why does the number of victims not include the killer?
Keep up the much needed, hard work.
