I was fortunate enough to attend Shootrite Firearms Academy in Langston Alabama this past week on 10-22-2009 and learn from one of the most respected trainers in the nation, Mr. Tiger McKee. The day consisted of one on one defensive pistol and defensive carbine (AR15). You may have seen Tiger on Tom Gresham’s Personal Defense TV on the Oudoor Channel. A highly respected firearms instructor, Tiger works very closely with Clint Smith from Thunder Ranch and he joined me to discuss the training session and we got into some great detail.
The second hour consisted of conversation with Tiger McKee, Ms. Kathy Jackson of Concealed Carry magazine, always a very popular guest and a call from Mr. Skip Coryell, publisher and founder of The Second Amendment March to be held on Washington, DC on April 19th, 2010.
The participation from you, the listener was great and Tiger was one of the best guests I have ever had on the program. Ya wanna learn something? Click below and crank it up!

George Hill, The Mad Ogre joined me for the full two hours and a great discussion was had about all kinds of good stuff! During this hour George and I were visited by The Black Man With a Gun, Mr. Kenn Blanchard who also produces the Urban Shooter Podcast. Listen in as George and I discussed some current anti-gun hit pieces by the Atlanta Journal Constitution (Imagine that, anti-gun editorials by the AJC) and a conversation that morphed into some informative discussion about the beauty and design of the 1911, America’s quintessential handgun.
Kenn was awesome, as he usually is and we had a really fun three-way conversation.
Enjoy!

I welcomed George Hill, The Mad Ogre for the second hour and this one didn’t disappoint. George and I were joind by Mr. Steve Shenck of E-Foods Direct who discussed why you need to be prepared in the event of food shortages and how EFoods can help.
Mr. Larry Correia joined us for the second half of the program. Larry is the author of Monster Hunter International, on sale now at most major book outlets. An avid competition shooter and second amendment activist as well as author and pro-gun columnist, Larry gave us some really good insight on some of his carry rigs and his latest column in Concealed Carry Magazine.
I received callers and emails as well as some Tweets and another great conversation was had by all.
Enjoy the broadcast

THE OLD WEST-AAR Host Mark Walters enjoying the High Desert on the outskirts of Tombstone Arizona, Feb 2008. (Notice the brass flying against the backdrop of the sky)
Scheduled guests Alan Korwin and Kenn Blanchard in this hour were unable to be on tonight and will be rescheduled for a future show.
WHAT A SHOW! This week we deviate from the modern day world of self defense and have a little fun as I take you back 128 years to the dusty streets of the old west. I promise you one of the funnest radio programs you have ever listened to…and a great history lesson to boot!
Tonight I take you to the city of Tombstone Az and the legends who made it the ”Town too tough to die”. Founded in 1879 by Ed Schiefflin, Tombstone Az became known as the “wildest, roughest, wickedest honky tonk between Basin Street and the Barbary Coast”. Later, Tombstone would become forever immortalized for The Gunfight at The OK Corral. Lasting a mere 30 seconds, this street brawl between the Earps and the Clanton gang went down in the books as the most famous gunfight in American western history.
Tonight you will learn the history of the fight that took place at near point blank range that resulted in the deaths of Frank McLaury, Tom McLaury and Billy Clanton at the hands of the Earps and Doc Holliday.
Join me and my guest Terry “Ike” Clanton…fourth generation cousin of Billy Clanton who was killed by the Earps and Holliday on October 26th, 1881. Walk those dusty streets with me as Terry tells us the Clanton’s side of the gunfight never told by Hollywood. An active member of the Screen Actors Guild and The Outlaws and Lawmen Association, Terry is an avid gunslinger himself and has ranked as high as 38th in the worlds Fast Draw Championships. You will hear amazing family history and eyewitness accounts passed on from those who were THERE and get the facts that don’t seem to make it to the big screen.
For cryin out loud, THIS WAS GREAT.

So the Supreme Court has decided to take the McDonald Chicago gun ban case. So who better to have on than the man who made it all possible? That’s right, Mr. Dick Heller and Mr. Dane vonBreichenruchardt will join me this week to discuss the Heller decision and the upcoming case that means so much to gun rights. The conversation will be deep and enlightening. Don’t miss it.
I am disappointed to tell you that my invitation to Sheriff Joe Arpaio in AZ was declined this afternoon. It seems that the good Sheriff wasn’t interested in discussing the new restaurant carry bill going into effect this week in AZ allowing lawful CCW’s to carry into restaurants and bars. He also didn’t want to talk about the open carry of firearms at the recent Obama “event”. No worries, we’ll have him on at a later date on a different subject matter.
In additon, Ms. Niki Goeser will rejoin the broadcast to give us some updates on the shooter who killed her husband in front of her and 50 other patrons at a TN bar. Interestingly, guns were banned in bars at that time by lawfull CCW holders….remember, criminals with guns are already banned everywhere…hmm, seems the criminal didn’t care about the law…Niki did, now her husband is gone. Powerful stuff and we’ll get an update on this very tragic situation and the pending court case.
CHANGE IN LINEUP…Our previously scheduled guest Marc Peagler has taken on a bad case of the flu and we wish him a speedy recovery.
JOINING ME FOR THE FULL SECOND HOUR WILL BE MR. MICHAEL BANE OF DOWNRANGE TV, THE OUTDOOR CHANNEL AND THE “BEST DEFENSE” TELEVISON SERIES. AN UNBELIVEBALE SECOND HOUR LINED UP!
