Have you ever wondered how to deal with law enforcement while legally armed? Maybe you’ve been pulled over or someone saw your weapon while you were walking home from the store. Are you to notify the officer that you are legally armed when pulled over even if your state law doesn’t require it?
Most legally armed citizens have asked these and similiar questions many times…It is certainly a hot topic on many pro-gun talk forums. Joining me in the studio was an active duty LEO who gave us his perspective. REGARDLESS OF WHAT STATE YOU RESIDE this was a cool insight into the officer’s mind and thought process. I challenged him on the issue.
You’ll be surprised (maybe not) to hear which GA business didn’t welcome officer “Hugh” because he was armed. This one will crack you up. And disgust you.
“Hugh” will be joing me on an upcoming show to continue our discussion and get to some of the things that time just didn’t permit us to talk about.
I had to interupt our normal schedule to bring Mr. Dane von Breichenruchardt, President of the U.S. Bill of Rights Foundation and close confidant of Mr. Dick Heller to the show. Dane joined me to discuss the ramifications of the 7th Circuit Court decision allowing the Chicago gun ban to stand, on the grounds that the second amendment doesn’t apply to the states.
As usual, we run out of time every Sunday evening because one hour just isn’t long enough.

I live in Florida so they know on the computer you have a CCW on a traffic stop, never had a problem with most officers and have been let go by the ones who did want to run my gun numbers.
I only problem you have in Florida is the LEO’s that retire and move here to start working here and still thinking there still up north, the laws are different here, learn the State laws on gun carry.
Yes I get pulled over more than I should because I’m a handyman and have a ladder on the truck most times, so I get pulled over for driving with ladder, all the time as they think if you have a ladder you can’t drive without a beer between your legs, so yes it’s a profile.
But the main thing LEO’s are trained to be jumpy because of the idiots they have to deal with, so I rather tell them I’m armed and if I’m carrying or it’s in the lower glove box just to relax them and most know right off the bat if you have a CCW, your not a felon and are a law abiding citizen.
I just finished listening (for the second time) to the segment with the Georgia LEO.

Not only was ‘Hugh’ a riot to listen to, he confirmed things that I’ve read (that’ve been written by other cops) regarding what-to-do when being stopped while carrying.

I have but one request, Could you leave out the commercials
on the podcast ? Except of course for the very pertinent ones to the theme of the
show. The other ones really annoy me! I don’t need to hear about visiting angels
or the Andy what his name’s three-step plan to financial freedom multiple times.
